I'm not sure who introduced it into our circles, whether it was Bill or Phil or Dave, but I just finished Guitar Man
, by Will Hodgkinson
. Hodgkinson is a writer with some connections who sets himself a goal, play a guitar in front of an audience in six months. In the process he ends up going from London to Florida to Mississippi and points in between, searching for knowledge from guitarists from Roger McGuinn to T. Model Ford to Davy Graham, spinning a fun tale of the energy of youth recaptured.
Not a transcendent tale, but one that had me laughing out loud, and was a fun romp through interesting bits of musical history.
