Two classes of devices I'm interested in:
- The TI MSP 430 is a super low power 16 bit microcontroller that looks like they've got some great little wireless demo boards for in the $50 range.
- The Cypress PSoC devices are, among other things, advertising 14 bit(!) ADCs. There's a couple of applications where that makes a bunch of external complexity completely irrelevant.
