It is also odd that the color approach is so different from that used in Europe. On BBC coverage of Uk elections, Labour is always in red, Torys in Blue, and Social Dems in Gold. This color scheme is reflected in the various parties' own graphics, or what color carnation the candidates wear on the hustings. The Socialists of Spain use a red rose as their logo, I believe.
