Wow! FTC Names Edward W. Felten as Agency's Chief Technologist. You, of course, know Ed Felten from Freedom To Tinker, announcement here (hat tip: Steve Bogart)

believed that something like it would ever actually happen. Next thing
you know Bruce Schneier will take a job with the Department of Homeland
Security.

Almost impossible to believe. Random excellent luck, or is there a hidden
technical gorilla movement inside the FTC that has just accomplished its first
counterstrike?
