Teaching technique

Why do I hate the AP? This article about a paper by Carl Wieman about teaching methods for undergraduate physics really makes me want to find the source material, but though they pull in an unrelated person for commentary they don't tell me where the paper was published, or where they pulled in the quotes from.

However, if Carl Wieman said this:

"Lectures have been equally ineffective for centuries, now we have figured out ways to do it better."

Then he and I agree on a core element of the university experience.
