After many years of trying, researchers at Rice University have succeeeded in producing carbon nanotube cables that can carry as much current as copper. All this while being lighter and stronger than metal. Maybe I should invest in coal, not to burn but to grow.

Naw, in the future when all of these technologies just work, the carbon will be harvested from atmospheric CO2...

Yeah, and at some point that harvesting of CO2 will reduce the carbon levels in the atmosphere to the point that the earth will start cooling and plant growth will become retarded. Blue-green algae levels in the ocean will become alarmingly low. Whales and other ocean life will suffer.
