We didn't know about the curing issue, so we now have a space heater keeping the bathroom at 85°F for the next few days. I'm going to have to build a temperature controlled box that'll let me do higher humidity than our dehydrator.

We planted everything way late, and all of our copious tomatoes are volunteers, so it's been a pretty kick-ass year out here, even though it's been fairly cold. We're scheduled for rain on Wednesday, we'll have to see if that's enough to split the tomatoes or whether they survive.

Very nice. I have not grown them since they adorned my 5th grade classroom.

We had another terrible gardening year in the NE. Not a day of sunshine until 15Jun. Then parched earth until late Aug, followed by unending rain and floods. It was so dry that bear as well as deer were eating in the garden for moisture. The curcubita were the only ones that did well. I have a pumpkin that looks to weigh in over 200 lbs, though I won't try to move it until frost threatens.
