Yep. Which halves the throughput, which means they'll have to buy double the number...

I seem to recall an FBI agent who claimed that weapons could be brought through a body scanner at the time the TSA was starting to test these things out. I assumed at the time she was talking about someone with a lot of flab that would hide the weapon. She would not say just how this was done at the time. Turns out it was far simpler than I thought. So there is no doubt that the TSA has known about this from the beginning.
