So a lot of people have been outraged over U.C. Davis police officer Lt. John Pike, famously photographed directly pepper spraying non-violent protesters, being awarded $38k in worker's comp damages over (the reaction to) that incident. Consider that despite his willingness to follow orders without thinking, he's also a victim of a command hierarchy which clearly didn't train him to deal moral situations.
