LA Times: Capitol Journal: Thirsty crops should require state regulation, an editorial complaining about how residential users are being told to cut down on irrigation, and commercial users are being told to make customers ask for glasses of water, but...

No such directives as "tomatoes are OK because they're not water guzzlers and can be fallowed in a dry year," but "hold off planting more gulping almond orchards in the desert."

I'm fine with water conservation. On my list is crawling under the house again to re-evaluate greywater for the shower. But the fact that we're subsidizing almonds pisses me off.
