Tainted evidence lab

Annie Dookhan, chemist at Mass. crime lab, arrested for allegedly mishandling over 60,000 samples. Her actions could be a factor in 34,000 defendants and 1,140 convictions.

The only motive authorities have found so far is that Dookhan wanted to be seen as a good worker, the state attorney general said.

And she's gonna pay (and, it sounds like, fall on her sword) while the managers who set up an environment in which this was encouraged will face "harsh criticism".
