I saw Boys Don't Cry last night. I had forgotten what good movies are like. Pretty powerful, it took a while to get over the "wow, this is a social class that I haven't encountered recently", but that soon gave way to seeing a person trapped by ignorance and bigotry trying to find a way home. And I thought the editing and cinematography were first rate too. Recommended, although a few people in the audience (including me) were stunned enough that it took a while to get up after the credits were over, and I had to take a walk to try to assimilate it.
