Reality Winner

2017-06-06 14:55:28.391104+00 by Dan Lyke 3 comments

The US DOJ released an affidavit in support of an arrest warrant for Reality Leigh Winner because of a document dated May 5th. Ignoring the fact that the heroine in this story is named like a character from a Philip K. Dick or Neal Stephenson novel, this is interesting because The Intercept released a document dated May 5th as Top-Secret NSA Report Details Russian Hacking Effort Days Before 2016 Election.

Soooooo..... the USDOJ just confirmed the validity of the NSA report on the Russian election hacking effort.

That's some really interesting political gamesmanship being played there...

But another reminder: Every document you print has the printer serial number and a timestamp embedded in the output. Careful with that paper, kids. Oh this is fascinating: Rachel Maddow is trying to draw a line between a document MSNBC got that they believe is forged and linked to the document that The Intercept published.

And comment editing appears to be broken, so I'll add it here:

Maddow is saying that a document that MSNBC got that MSNBC decided was bogus for other reasons was apparently created by copy-and-pasting portions of the document that The Intercept published. And that the document MSNBC got appears to be trying to discredit journalists over the Trump Russia campaign story.

The kicker, though, is that MSNBC got that document before The Intercept published it. So someone with access to the original document is part of a false flag operation.

Greenwald contradicts Maddow, says she got the document two days after The Intercept published it: Rachel Maddow's Exclusive "Scoop" About A Fake NSA Document Raises Several Key Questions.
