The military is a world unto itself. Like living in a bizarro mirror dimension where culture and reality are distorted into a crude reflection of what most people think is normal. That reality is skewed even farther for an infantryman. The highest good you can achieve is to die well. I don’t need to explain what the point of the job is. It is an obsession with death.
