Breonna Taylor update

One of the three plainclothes officers who kicked in a door and shot and killed Breonna Taylor serves on the board that hears appeals on officer misconduct: Mayor Fischer: ‘Profoundly inappropriate’ for Hankison to be on LMPD Merit Board

LMPD acknowledged Tuesday that the department’s Public Integrity Unit was investigating the sex assault allegations against Hankison. And Thursday, Fischer’s office issued a statement announcing that the PIU wasn’t the only office looking into the case.

And just so I can find it: Louisville police released the Breonna Taylor death incident report.

Police in Louisville, Kentucky, released a nearly-blank incident report Wednesday from the night Breonna Taylor was fatally shot< in her own apartment by officers. Despite the fact that the 26-year-old EMT was shot at least eight times during the no-knock search, the report listed Taylor's injuries as "none."

Police also checked "no" next to the box that says "forced entry" on the form, but witnesses and crime scene photos show officers used a battering ram to force entry into the apartment while Taylor was asleep.
