Coup news of the moment

Video of police opening up barricades to let insurrectionists into the Capitol

The difference between the response to the BLM protests in DC and the insurrectionists

Bryan Rolli reminds us that Tom Cotton sent out a call for troops (That editorial in the NYT, back in June)

Terrorists brandishing an enemy flag have stormed the Capitol and have replaced the United States flag with that of their leader.

Matt Oswalt points out that guns drawn in the House chamber and Confederate flags in the hallways is consistent with what he'd predicted would play out

RT Paul Elard Cooley @paul_e_cooley

So when do the cops start spraying these assholes with rubber bullets and tear gas like they do to minorities, Native Americans, and the big bad Antifa "goons?"

More video of insurrectionists breaking into the Capitol

RT Jennifer Bishop @jenbeee

Those Capitol Police officers who opened the gates should be shown video over and over of their fellow officers defending the chamber door under fire. They put their own brothers and sisters at risk.

Yet another shot of an insurrectionist in the Capitol building with a Confederate battle flag.

I've seen some reports of coordinated attacks on State Capitol buildings, Salem Oregon and Atlanta Georgia, but I'm guessing more will become obvious as time goes on.

Clypian Twitter thread of Salem, which actually doesn't look as bad as I'd feared.

Lynching imagery in the exhibits set up outside the Capitol:

Why y’all keep asking where the police at? Y’all ask where Miley’s at when Hannah’s on stage?

RT Franchesca Ramsey @chescaleigh

They don’t do active shooter drills at the US capitol? Or is that only for middle & high schoolers?

And best caption for video of insurrectionists smashing Capitol building windows: "Maybe if this was a Target the cops would care? 🙃"

KUSI News confirms identity of woman shot and killed inside US Capitol

The woman is Ashli Babbit, a 14-year veteran, who served four tours with the US Air Force, and was a high level security official throughout her time in service.

This Twitter thread suggests that her Twitter feed is https://twitter.com/Ashli_Babbitt and suggests that this video of rioters breaking internal windows inside the Capitol building, and someone climbing through one of those windows and then suddenly falling back out is her, being shot.

Maybe it's that I'm inured to the cracray, but her Twitter feed simultaneously reads as someone who's mentally ill and just any other Trump supporter.

More video of the shooting of Ashli Babbitt. It's not like she didn't know what she was charging into there.
