GOP leadership, FOX News, Trump/MAGA etc don't appear to care how many of their own voters die as long as they damage President Biden's approval rating in the process.
While I'm sure they'd much rather every person who dies of COVID be a Democrat, losing ~220,000 of their own supporters appears to be a small price to pay if it results in them flipping control of the House and/or Senate next year.
