Fact-checking Alisa Valdés’ claims about the Trinity Test
As the Oppenheimer discourse blares forward, millions of views and thousands of likes and retweets have been given to misinformation. There is a viral twitter thread in which fiction author and aspiring screenwriter Alisa Lynn Valdés makes a series of partly true, but mostly false, claims about the Trinity Project, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and whistleblower Loyda Martinez. Trying to sell her own screenplay on the subject, she has received nothing but blind encouragement and far too little scrutiny. You can find the thread here.
