Over the years I've had lots o' discussions with people about why "Software Engineering" isn't, one analogy was that "we're asked to build a bridge, except this side of the water's all fogged in and we don't even know if it's a river or an ocean". The only problem is that there are so many half-witted project managers out there willing to take on such projects. That's why I've become a big fan of Extreme Programming. Ok, it's also why I'm trying to redirect my career towards PKI architecture and not programming...
