Andersen/Accenture

2001-01-08 17:55:47+01 by Dan Lyke 7 comments

Branding is everything in the .com economy, right? So why is Andersen Consulting[Wiki] changing their name. To Accenture. With a greater-than symbol over the 't', something that shows up in no character set I've ever seen. Maybe they got sick of being called "Anderoids". Hmmmm... perhaps it has something to do with the symptoms of my Andersen Consulting story...

i thought it was because they had to. i think they split from andersen and that was part of the agreement. some 20 year legal battle. probably run by andersen consultants to make sure it took at least 20 years to complete.

Yes, they (Andersen Consulting) got out of paying Arthur Anderson mucho bux (the consulting side was actually making money while the accounting side was starting to flounder...but they had to change their name...

Love it! especially the final line in reference to that faux accent over the 'T': The plus sign is underused as well, and is useful against vampires.
