Do I know anyone in waste treatment or water quality who can talk about the impacts and issues of different dishwasher soaps?

(Bonus if there's some notion of actual efficacy, too. This message brought to you by emptying a load that was "washed" with "Seventh Generation Blasts Away Stuck On Food")

Your dishwasher is better than you think, and even cheap dishwasher soap is effective if you use your dishwasher correctly. And the follow up video.

This question is specifically wondering if Cascade has negative externalities that Seventh Generation doesn't, because Seventh Generation sucks.

Also, although it rocks for fatty things, even Cascade sucks for starchy things.
