Ripping and accumulation of CDs, using the Mac 'cause it's there, and having fun with "how many of these CDs has iTunes not heard of".

Surprised by some of the ones it finds data on, where others...

Classical CDs are the worst. Especially things like "the Karajan Collection of Beethoven Symphonies" - it's impossible find pre-populated gracenote entries that are consistent across all the CDs. So I end up doing my own style manually from the outset.

Yeah, the ones that get me are like a handwritten scrawl on the CDR itself local artist come up fine, but then there's some other regional artist with an offset printed cardboard holder and the whole bit who's blank.

Apparently there's no way in Apple Music to feed that data back? I'm just using id3tag because that's the first command line id3 editor I could get to work on MacOS.

There used to be a "upload to GracenoteDB" button, but I think that got axed in the rush to lease everything through AppleMusic
