I have been watching the age verification laws push through, and wondering who's the force
behind it. This moderated Reddit post, visible on Archive.org, with data on Github,
points the finger strongly at Meta.

Oh very interesting. Here's a Reddit thread from aaronsb (a different user) tracking similar language,
but I'm definitely needing to adapt to a new world of slop powered misinfo. I've let a few
things slip on to the front page of Flutterby lately that I'm wondering deeply about.
We will not edit your comments. However, we may delete your
comments, or cause them to be hidden behind another link, if we feel
they detract from the conversation. Commercial plugs are fine,
if they are relevant to the conversation, and if you don't
try to pretend to be a consumer. Annoying endorsements will be deleted
if you're lucky, if you're not a whole bunch of people smarter and
more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave
such ridicule in place.
