Something to compare and contrast with Burning Man: 150 miles east of San Diego, hundreds of thousands party rowdily in the Imperial Sand Dunes, drunk rednecks burning vehicles, shooting each other, doing other variously stupid things.

Not my scene but more power to them. At 90k people(3 to 4 times the size of BM) they have some problems of scale. My impression is the enviorment is much more MAD MAX meets spring break than anything close to the community Black Rock City is trying to become.
