Burning Man stress

2002-08-23 19:02:49+00 by Dan Lyke 4 comments

Damn. I've been monster stressed over Burning Man, and completely ineffectual the last two nights working on stuff because of that. So screw it. I think I'll be able to finish what I don't get done here up there, Mike's in California now, Todd's on the case, I'm going to finish my work stuff. Damn, I'm looking forward to that last stop at the Reno KMart before turning north to the Black Rock Desert.

Ok Dan. Deep Breath......and release.....ok folks Mike's on his way to Dan's and we are all outbound to BRC very soon. I'm sorry I have been a non-poster lately but my plate got too full. We'll all be back in a week or so. Hopefully some of the non burner posters will add an entry or three. Gawd I'm excited ...it's like christmas when your a little kid.

Dan and I both have excellent new electronic experience recording toys, but the cerebral cortex recording interface for sharing the experience itself broke under testing at high sensory input levels. It's good enough for downloading a new life of famous people like Bill Gates, but it just does not work for this level of signal input. We tried transmitting the signal with ODFM (OrthoDiagonalFrequencyModulation) to carry the additional sensory and emotional data, and the electronics and the cerebral interface just can't process the amplitude and high bit rate without significant error.

We're working on it.. but Moccasin Bend Mental Hospital is not accepting new patients and they are starting to ask questions about what is completely fragmenting our test subjects minds. Any volunteers? (Maybe in Black Rock City.. Hmm...)

Have you left yet? Get out to the playa already if you haven't.

It looks like the plan to hang out on the beach with a couple dozen friends is going to work out after all. I have a trunk full of fireworks to burn...
