Christmas Gifts

"Red eye reduction" sucks, because you end up with your eyes closed, looking like a dork. But a Hello Kitty[Wiki] vibrator's enough to put a serious smile on anyone's face.

Wow, a Hello, Kitty vibrator?! I knew there was something I forgot to buy in Japan last summer!!

PS: "Red eye reduction" sucks, because you end up with your eyes closed, looking like a dork. Well, not if the photographer reminds everyone "TWO FLASHES!" before pushing the trigger. Anyway, that seems to work for me. I like red-eye reduction.

I hate red-eye reduction; the proper way to avoid red-eye is to use a camera with a flash shoe, and a nice tall flash unit. The difference in spacing prevents the camera from seeing the flash projected on the back of people's retinas.

You also don't wind up getting pictures of people with pinhole-sized pupils, either.

I have found I get nice results if I rubber band a sheet of wax paper around the flash. This seems to provide plenty of light but diffuses the accompanying glare.
