While very cool and interesting, why not do it the way I've always seen it being done, and a couple of times, done it myself: Mount the pipe/tube in a vice or jig at the precise angle needed and chop the end with a drill bit on a drill press.
Or is this for people like Dan doing bike frame metal work with a hacksaw blade and a grinder?

I think it's for people doing metal work on tubes, but one reason to worry about the drill bit in the drill press is that unless you're using a Forstner bit (and even then you've gotta be careful), the bit will wander when cutting on an angle.

I've used Hole Saw Bits like these when cutting tubing with excellent results. I guess the difference is I'm using a 200lb 4' tall drill press with a clamp designed for holding tubing. Note: when cutting tubing at an offset, you don't use the centering drill bit.
Forstner bits are for wood.

I've had bad luck with hole saws, but I've mostly used them in wood, where they're particularly ill suited. Ended up with too many split saws.
And, yeah, Forstner bits are for wood, but as I get better with this wood stuff I expect to be joining wood cylinders at odd angles...
