Wait, Twitter's automatic link "shortener" just made my tweet longer. Stupid link shortener idiocy.

It's not stupid; this way they get to monitor who visits the links posted.

Also, note that Twitter now 'shortens' links already shortened with third party services, meaning a minimum of two forwards before your browser gets where you were trying to go.
