The bus ride has me thinking "I want to to read and respond to these blogs offline", then realized I was reinventing NNTP. Sigh.

Larry, as I said on your blog: Maybe it's time for a follow-up to trackbacks: I could poll your RSS, look for canonical links to blog entries here, and attach those entries as back-links (or full content) in the comment section.

Hanan, I've got a couple of email lists which are serving that function. Socially we aren't yet to the quick snark of Twitter, and the fact that I'm using Google Apps for email for Flutterby.com kinda sucks for that because Google's lists are awful, but...

Okay, so clearly I need to do three things:

  1. Build that system I described two comments up.
  2. Figure out regular expressions that catch all the ways you can get to this entry.
  3. Canonicalize my URLs so you can't see those other ways...
