Just paid $160 for pre-order on what's basically a super-accurate speed square. Will be second-guessing this purchase for a while...

A "speed square" is a particular sort of 90°+2x45° square with a lip on one side, usually used in framing or carpentry. They're commonly stamped aluminum, available in plastic, usually 12" on the 90° sides.

This one is machined aluminum, accurate to better than a thousandth of an inch per foot, 450mm (18").

I've got a 12" stamped aluminum speed square that I use on the Festool MFT table, but I believe that this beast will make it easier to do fast 45° setups for miters.

If you have your saw blade setup with it, you just might see a better average cut. For me, the human factor would make that a silly purchase. you are much more careful.

Consider a fetish/cred item, use it proudly.
