Not terribly fond of this cabinet's construction quality, will probably re-do at some point

It looks good from here. What is your ceiling made of? It looks smooth, glossy and shiney? And do you like it that way? Nancy wants to scrape off our "popcorn" ceilings...

Plaster over button board, with a relatively high gloss paint (kitchen and bath, for easier cleaning. Rest of the house is pretty matte.). And yes, we like simple to clean smooth surfaces, with decoration as add-ons (ie: very white, tinge of blue white, walls with hung pictures).

Oh, and I managed to hide most of the details I'm not happy with, but... There was much "I think I can make that work" on my strategy for getting those weird angles right, I ended up cutting the recess for the back panel with a router, which means the joints between the back panel and the shelves are a little messy. All hidden details, but I know they're there.
