We either need symmetric gigabit fiber everywhere, or a better web protocol that does store and forward and load balancing, so that we can get off the commercial web.

One thing I've noticed lately is that I'm a lot quicker to pull the ripcord if a page doesn't seem like it's loading. If I go five seconds on my cable connection and don't see some content, I hit command-W and move on. On my phone, they get a little more time, but not over ten seconds unless the link-bait was especially tasty.

"off the commercial web".. 3 Ubiquity AP's arrived, time to play with https://commotionwireless.net/ and other decentralized / mesh network topologies.
We will not edit your comments. However, we may delete your comments, or cause them to be hidden behind another link, if we feel they detract from the conversation. Commercial plugs are fine, if they are relevant to the conversation, and if you don't try to pretend to be a consumer. Annoying endorsements will be deleted if you're lucky, if you're not a whole bunch of people smarter and more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave such ridicule in place.
