Schooled. Still trying to adjust colors in post. Should really buy the red filter, but $60 seems excessive.

The problem is that there are so few bits of information in the red channel that you can not image process it back to anything reasonable. With the filter your the red, green, and blue channels all using a reasonable range and can do reasonable color correction.

The little bits of plastic film which you place between the lens and the case of a GoPro work well for me, $6.99 from Amazon from Accessory Pro. I like that they don't take up much space in my bag.

The next bit which really helps is something neutrally grey to shoot at your depth on a day. They make waterproof cards, but if a piece of clothing or gear is neutral grey that works too. Then you can have your image processing program learn that is grey and apply the correction to all of the photos. This will vary with depth and sky.

Yeah. Among the things that are gonna be ordered as soon as my dad gets back from his trip, the $7 version of the filter is on the list. Along with a handle and extension stick.

Also, I need to find a better Android image tweaker, Snapseed is not cutting it.
