Only because it makes physical contact, and the contacts and such are wear sensitive. I have one "metal" credit card, so far it's far better than any plastic card I've ever had, swiping and inserting into chip readers both. Probably invested more $$ into better quality materias on the card. I still don't want to do "commerce" via RF/NFC/etc..
