Examining a vintage RAM chip, I find a counterfeit with an entirely different die inside.
This is fascinating, and, since it's a chip for generating DTMF tones in a touch tone phone, it got me thinking about supply chains and cell phones and how much we trust the devices on which we use encrypted messaging services...
