Hmmmm, I'm trying to decide which pole to move to. Methinks the southern one will remain more remote. of course with global warming perhaps some beach front property in Alaska might work :)

The lesson of Guns, Germs and Steel seems to be that even if we could get to another planet overpopulation would soon drive the warlike ones to follow us and wipe us out. Although perhaps if the conditions were harsh enough we could get a generation to ourselves.
