The guy was in a tough spot, but two questions... what’s up with the spider neck tattoo, and he let himself be disarmed?!

Maybe it’s just my skewed perceptions growing up rural in the 1970s and watching Sheriff Andy on TV, but how does "protect and serve" work with "I decided that if I used deadly force, they’d kill me.” ? Yes, that’s a shitty decision to have to make, but sworn police officers are supposed to have to make harder decisions than “regular civilians.”

I know enough people with various tattoos that as long as it's not obviously pseudo-Nordic I don't take too much notice. But, yeah, I think I'd like to hear that story.

And I think the larger context here is that he was put into a situation where there were no good options by management. Whether that was gross incompetence at underestimating the threat from white people (which he may have been complicit in), or actual malice attempting to support a coup.... well... that too is a story I'd like to hear.
