Holy cow! Jerry Garcia died 10 years ago today, which means that this is 10 years since I moved to California from Chattanooga.

Hmm. I was moving from MN to CA, and driving toward Salt Lake City on US-40 when I heard on the radio about Garcia dying. "Hey, I wonder why a radio station in Utah is playing a bunch of Grateful Dead... Oh. Crap."

My start date at Pixar was August 15^th, 1995, and I think I arrived in California about a week early, so we pulled up in the truck the day Garcia died, or the day after.
