I can't tell from the video whether that's a soft drink bottle or a water rocket. Whichever it is, it looks like fun.

Those are just 2 liter soda bottles. We tried yesterday with something more rocket-shaped with a payload (a lighting system that didn't work out terribly well), and that flew much better.

We need a better release system, we had two mis-fires yesterday, and I think I probably need to take a bottle all the way to bursting so that I know what happens then. My impression is that the cap will go first, but even so it can be loud and there'll be some shrapnel.

Of course a better launcher would be even cooler, that way I won't have my hand smart after every launch.
