Continuing yesterday's tradition of linking to marketing materials, the Melodyne Direct Note Access video is interesting to watch, some folks are doing some amazing things with pitch detection and deconstructing musical recording back into its components.

A friend back in 'Nooga had a Gallien-Kreuger bass head in the early 90s that corrected pitch so he wouldn't have to tune during shows. Of course, bass is normally played monophonic, so you don't have to separate out the notes.

And the voice-over on the video kept saying "mee-dee" for MIDI. Never heard that before...

As for talent, fortunately it still exists in even the oddest places. You don't even have to like Regina Spektor to appreciate a fan's impromptu acapella recorded with just her built-in web-cam and mic.

Musical talent has already been irrelevant, the rack-mount devices which pitch correct your singing voice (eg: 1, 2) have been around for well over a decade.

[Edit: Oh dear @DEITIES, it's worse than that, these guys apparently have devices that sample your guitar inputs and adjust your voice to chord appropriate notes.]
