Little Brother - I need to read this better when I have time. It starts off well: " I'm a senior at Cesar Chavez high in San Francisco's sunny Mission district, and that makes me one of the most surveilled people in the world." and in a fast skim has some great lines.

Except for a weak ending, it was the best book I've read this year. It is highly subversive, and I mean that as a compliment.

I was disappointed enough by "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom" that Doctorow's writing has fallen completely off my radar, but I'll be interested in opinions on this one.
