Chasing that report further, looks like there's an iPhone version already, radar detector communicates with iPhone via Bluetooth, iPhone communicates with web site, shares trap positions. Pretty much the whole shebang, and the Android version will implement all that.

Saw this today: Engadget reports on an Android-aware radar detector. Sounds like no social features yet but it's on the roadmap.

Maybe put two way radios in cars so people can monitor open broadcasts of each other to update where speed traps have been sighted. Maybe people could even develop their own language like has been done with texting. It could be like an audio Twitter.
