The clue "1200E71" was scratched into the archaic box with a dozen DB9 Serial Ports. It was a crucial clue as I tried to establish communications from a new 64bit system with 2gb of ram whose purpose is to translate SMTP to 1200 baud TAP as alphanumeric pages. Mostly for regional medical staff whome aren't allowed to use a cell phone. Hopefully, this kludge of Perl, C and MySQL is in it's final resting place, a retirement home for archaic yester-tech. It queues up messages and spoon feeds it down that serial port, into a hulking remnant from another era that struggles to keep up.
The NOC tech thought "1200E71" was l33tspe@k, but did not understand what it meant. It is -very- elite speak, harking from an age of technology from before he was born, or had a my_ page. I just want to say "thank you" to whomever was there before, and may have spent hours trying different bauds, data bits, parity and stop bits.
