The new www.chattanooga.gov official website is
about to be available for public access. I got a quick preview from Glen Austin and it sure is pretty. Glen says this is just Phase I, and there is a lot to do for the future. I was surprised to see a fair bit of content and functionality in the couple of minutes I got to click around.
It is not going to be accessible without a decent computer and a high speed connection. The background images are huge. Beautiful, but huge.
508 Compliance? Unsure. It will be interesting to see it morph over the next few months.

Yeah.. I just clicked on 'Pay Fine' and and got a search. Looks like most of the functionality is at "link2gov" and other places. It's slow, even here at work. It does not work at 800x600.. but is usable at 1024x768.. Lots of tilt-shift photos.. and broken links in the search system to the old websites links.
Sigh.

Ooookay. Right now there are four text blocks as images, with no
alt="..." text, and the actual content is all hosted elsewhere on free sites.
I take it there was an intermediate upgrade or something here that I'm not seeing now?
We will not edit your comments. However, we may delete your
comments, or cause them to be hidden behind another link, if we feel
they detract from the conversation. Commercial plugs are fine,
if they are relevant to the conversation, and if you don't
try to pretend to be a consumer. Annoying endorsements will be deleted
if you're lucky, if you're not a whole bunch of people smarter and
more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave
such ridicule in place.
