CIA torture report

2014-12-09 19:09:41.807089+01 by Dan Lyke 0 comments

One of the issues I have with giving police leeway for excessive violence or intimidation is that it lessens the authority of and respect for the police: Blue just becomes another gang color, and one that's not a part of the community. The CIA torture report shows that this culture of confusing violence and intimidation with respect isn't just a problem at a local level, it's a problem internationally. Never mind hiding troops in ambulances, rape and torture are not behaviors of civilized nations.

MeFi thread.
