Bitfury De-Anonymises Millions of Bitcoin Transactions and
Addresses. Gosh, I hope nobody was using Bitcoin for anything that might be frowned
upon by authorities or as a way to subvert laws about currency or anything. It would be bad
to have behavior like that written to a global immutable distributed publicly available
ledger.

Bitcoin, as the first cryptocurrency, wasn't designed for anonymity. There are altcoins that do a better job at protecting privacy.
