cut the cable cord when we moved 18 years ago. DSL for most the time and cell when that's not quite enough (which is fairly rare) is a pretty nice combination. Not having an excuse to stare at the tv for hours on end has allowed much more time for activities and things. (instead I stare at the computer screen for hours on end...)

They haven’t announced their change for Minneapolis yet, but I’m expecting it will be the change that pushes me to drop cable entirely. Since I don’t watch much video online (I order shiny circles for things I want to watch), cellular data looks like it will be cheaper for me than cable, and will probably be sufficient bandwidth.

My sweetie also doesn’t have cable. She’s got DSL and an antenna, which gives her all the TV she wants. Turns out, it’s possible to live a pretty good life without cable TV.
