There is so much phrenology in modern law enforcement evidence that... Aside from that they're likely issuing differential light transmission as a measurement technique, I have no idea about this...

Wait - they're convicting people solely on the results of a breathalyzer test? That's insane. Those devices don't test alcohol level directly, they test one of its breakdown products, ketones - which are also released when on a low-carb diet, when you have high blood sugar, and in a few other cases. How can you label someone a criminal on that basis?
