As the country is gripped by the Supreme Court - a light guide (ahem) to some
barrister phrases:
“If my learned friend is right...” = My learned friend is wrong.
“I’ve just noticed the time” = I am hungry. Are you hungry?
“I won’t read it aloud” = It’s really quite long.
