Apple’s head of global security indicted on bribery charges
Thomas Moyer, who has run Apple’s security department since 2013, according to his LinkedIn page, had applied for concealed-weapons permits, according to the release. The sheriff’s office held up the application, the news release alleges, until Moyer agreed to get Apple to donate $70,000 worth of iPads.

I don’t recall the policy on bribes at Apple, but at another Silicon Valley behemoth, the official policy
was basically, “In some countries, you may be asked for a bribe in order to do business. If doing so
is not illegal, get ’er done.” I may have paraphrased a bit, but based on what I see in the news, that
seems to be Apple’s policy as well. Nice to know we’re in a country where a little baksheesh is just
part of doing business.

more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave
such ridicule in place.
